Imbolc marks the half way point between Winter Solstice and the Spring Equinox. The festival falls on 2nd February this year and is a celebration of the ending of winter and the beginning of spring. Although spring proper is still a little way off changes in the natural world are starting to happen - snowdrops poke their beautiful white flowers up above the soil and hibernating animals start to stir.
